A Small Fly

Last Weekend I got the pleasure of a full on Swiss experience with my Swiss friend Timee.
Timee, Steph and I were hanging out in Montreux checking out the castle when he suggested we "go for a small fly".
When presented with the opportunity to go for a "small fly", you take it, no questions asked. When's the next time this lovely opportunity will come up again.
Probably never. So we said, "sure".
Timee's pad is amazing. It's this super small village of like, maybe 100 houses, on the side of a mountain. His mom brought out freshly made chocolate chip muffins, fresh bread she made that morning and brand new cheese that was made in the village.
Does this not fit every single stereotype the Swiss have. The only other thing they could possibly do is start yodeling.
Anyway, after this "snack" he grabbed his parachute bag of goodies and we walked down the path a bit and up the mountain a tad. The plan was to para-glide off the side of this mountain, by ourselves, without every doing anything like this before in both of our lives.
What a good day it turned out to be.
He then proceeded to tell us, in broken English, how to fly properly.
Timee then strapped it on, and demonstrated how to do a short flight.
Steph and I kind of realized this could be one of the greatest, or worst decisions ever.
What's the worst that could happen...Timee said I could die, but really how much worse could it be.
So after what seemed like a billion tries I finally took off and started flying down this mountain into this snowy/grassy valley. We were both only in the air for about a minute and a half, but still we got to parachute down a mountain all by ourselves.
So cool.
Our School Leaders couldn't really grasp the concept that we did this, by ourselves, and it was our first time ever trying. No worries, were both fine. It was awesome.
After our paragliding experience, Timee's mom cooked this awesome meal with French wine and other Swiss delicacies that blew my mind. It was so strange being at someone's house. Then I got to drive back to the base, which was sweet because I haven't driven for like 2 months. A very excellent and random day with Timee. What more could I have asked, for our last non-snowboarding weekend of the season.
Which brings us to my last snowboarding weekend, which just so happened to be this past weekend.
Yesterday, was our last snowboarding day. It was warm, icy, and super duper fast.
It was a good last day, but it was a sad affair when I put my board away for another season. Were putting them into storage tomorrow. It's going to be hard, but I think I'll be able to get through this without any tears. It was the best season ever.
We leave for China and the Philippines in a week. Kind of crazy, kind of awesome. Hopefully things all run smoothly with travel.
Cheers
P.S. After this, I'm going to London, England and THEN I'm coming home.
