So...here's the deal.
My school is being split up into 4 groups. Some are going to Costa Rica, Sudan & Uganda, Tanzania & Burundi and last but not least, China & the Philippines (aka the Chilippines).
My group is rocking the Chilippines.
We leave March 30th for Beijing. We then go from there to Manila. I think we spend a week in Manila and then move on to the Boracay Islands.
All along the way we'll be hanging out in orphanages, helping with earthquake relief, a lot of playing with kids (especially in Manila). We are also doing building projects, visiting a prison and potentially some kind of health care relief in Asia.
All in all, it's going to be a ride of a lifetime. I always envisioned Central America being my spot for humanitarian relief, Africa and Europe my spot for exploring. Asia never really crossed my mind. Yet, here I am, I have a feeling I'm going to fall in love with where I'm going, and the people I'm about to meet, and hopefully inspire.
My China visa came in no problem last week, and this Wednesday were going to Geneva to pick up our Philippines Visas. So were almost all set and ready to go. Just money is the issue now for some.
As for girls I'm bringing home, I'm afraid I just can't convince them. None of them are willing to move to Ontario. It's a real hindrance in my love life. But can you blame them, no one wants to snowboard Holiday Valley after they ride down a fricken mountain.
I'm going to have to get out of that dead end province sooner or later..... Jokes.
But Seriously....I'm starting to get sad knowing that when I look outside and see mountains it will only be for a couple more weeks.
So that's a no Ron, I'm not bringing any home, I love them in a Jesus kind of way.
Cheers.
