Waterfalls, Beaches and Wine

As I was packing up my room I did something every residence student should have done, I grabbed a permanent black marker, wrote something on the bottom of a drawer in my desk and signed it -'10. There are marks on this desk from the 80s and 90s and some even before that. But thee was NOT a mark from the guy that lives there last year. I searched high and low to find it, and I never did. I made sure not to disappoint the new guy that would be inhabiting my space as of Sept next year. Hopefully he never encounters recyclops, the epic recycling monster that doesn't get emptied.  However I'm glad to be heading back to Niagara.  The land where rivers flow into waterfalls, lakes have beaches and grapes turn into wine.

It didn't take long after leaving London to hear people complaining about how much they miss London. And just a reminder, this is London, ON were talking about.
Now, obviously no one actually is missing London, ON because there really isn't that much to miss except for one street that goes from campus to Downtown. I bet a very high percentage of Western students haven't even seen outside of campus and Richmond St. Which leads me to believe they don't miss London but they miss the people they met there.
I hope.

Because, despite what most say, London isn't that fantastic. I can't really think of any real distinguishing features that make the city better than any other big city.
Where is the lake, beach, mountain, hill, anything?
Yes, it's a big city and has all the nice perks most big cities have. But all it has is a river that's absolutely disgusting that runs through it, (which happens to run through UWO campus as well) and a couple bars that people like.
That's it basically. The only thing I like about London is Western, which is absolutely terrific, and I think the funnest and best University to go to.
But, in terms of location, it's too bad it's in London. I like Western DESPITE of the fact that it's located in London. London does seem to have an excessive amount of schawarma places, and if you are going to need emergency surgery London is a good place to have it thanks to it's several hospitals.
However they are cutting Nurses among other things so hopefully you're not looking for a job. Ya, i'm excited to be somewhere other than London for the Summer, I'd much rather be here rather than there. At least here I can go to the Falls, swim in the rivers and lakes, day trip to Toronto or the States in less than an hour.
Ya, whenever people talk about how much they love London.... I can't help but slightly disagree.
