Paranoia

This week I've been playing a game in residence entitled GOTCHA.
Here's how it works.

You receive a sock with a name of someone who lives in your residence.
Your objective is to find them and hit them with the sock, and then in doing so, you collect their sock and get a new person to find.
My res has around 650 people in it, so this can be quite difficult.
Not to mention it makes you paranoid, all the time. I'm fairly certain I lost years of my life due to the fact that I was stressed out of my face.
But regardless, I have done well, and haven't been caught yet, thanks to disguises and discreteness. Turbans, sunglasses, eating alone in my room, these are all the things that I have been doing to stay in the game.
I even de-activated my facebook....I know, a little extreme.
I basically cut off the primary method of communication among university students and the world in general all for the sake of not getting hit with a sock.

My week without facebook did reveal to me a couple of things though.
It doesn't make me waste LESS time, it just makes me waste time in different and exciting ways, like going on YouTube...a lot.
I feel as if the Internet has provided me with ample ways to totally waste my time.
e.g. There's a game called "Gold Miner" that my floor is hooked on. I had a poster project due the next day and I spent 3 hours playing "Gold Miner"which is as ridiculous and lame as the name implies.
Thank you internet, for ensuring that I am always behind.
-cheers.
