Almost Back in the Land of Over Priced Everything

Last week I had a fantastic opportunity awarded to me. I got the chance to rent a guy's motorcycle for 2 hours.
Which is the beauty of the Philippines, at any given time you can catch a ride with anyone, rent their vehicle, or grab a jetski from anyone.

When the guy asked me if I knew how to ride I replied with "of course I do, just give me a quick refresher". And off I went. It was pretty sketch learning how to ride a motorcycle in the one lane road that is Boracay Island, but it was awesome. I had so much fun.

My Outreach is finally winding down, we have 2 more days here before we begin the 2 day travel gong show back to Switzerland. China and the Philippines have been so amazing, and I've learned alot of weird things:

-Honking your horn for 10 seconds straight is never necessary.
-Taking pictures of your food is normal, you'll never see it again so..
-I get "best price" in every shop I go into
-Babies should not be allowed to poo or pee anywhere they'd like
-Asian food is far superior to North American Food
-For some reason China loves kfc
-In order to get your point across when there's a language barrier, just yell
-If someone asks you a yes/no question, respond with "ok".
-If ever invited to a Bible Study, assume that you're leading it
-roosters shouldn't be allowed to do their cockle doodle do thing until noon.
-there's no need for mosques to have loud speakers, especially at 5 am, especially when I live in a tree house 25 m away. We should have converted them.
-When crossing the street, it should be a life/death situation, therefore determining whether or not you really need to cross the street
-Taxis should also be a life/death situation
-Road lines and lights on the road are more of a suggestion than anything
-the shoulder of the road is an extra lane
-when you say you're coming at 7, that actually means 8.
-everyone on boracay island is willing to rent motorcycles or jetskis to you, including security guards, shop owners and pastors.

Since I haven't REALLY discussed any actual ministering I've done on this blog thing, I'll let you in on what I've been up to, in that sense.
In Boracay it's been pretty busy. We are doing construction on a school/ministry building that the church were with is building, we do this about every other day in the mornings. In the evenings we go to "feeding sites". Which is pretty much exactly what it sounds like. We go to different spots all around the island and feed around 30 - 50 kids. There's usually about 3-5 different spots a day, and we do it everyday. We do games, songs and stories with the kids, they're about 2 - 13 years old usually. After, or during, there's usually a spontaneous Bible Study that pops up that we're invited to run. All in all, our days are really full here.
In China it was a lot more open, and not much to do, and frankly not much we were allowed to do.
On Sundays in Boracay we'd help lead the Church Service by preaching, worship team and doing kids ministry. All in all, an amazing experience.

Right now, I'm finishing off this in Doha, Qatar. We're around 10 hours away from being in Geneva. It hasn't clicked that I'm going to be back in Switzerland and that this whole experience/adventure is coming to an end. I still feel like there's so much to do. Oh well.
See you in less than 2 weeks.
Cheers.
-jon.
