Non-Adventures

I was recently re-inspired to write things down again, which is a source of contention in my life. I feel as if the average writer should not be writing things for the entire world to see and judge. I believe this mostly because they probably suck at it and they’re relentlessly filling up our internet with loads of garbage that are hidden amongst poorly written words and phrases. I’m not really sure why I’m so worried about the internet and how much data is being used up, considering most of the things on the Internet are pure crap anyway, why not add a little more.

I ran into some friends who bought a RV and are heading across this massive country of ours to go see it, volunteer, do random acts of idiocy, I’m not really sure actually. They started a blog which, like I said, is a source of contention. However, how can it not be good? 5 guys buying an RV and driving across Canada trying to do good and having tons of fun. It sounds like a movie. They were inspired to write a blog by my blog. We called it the inspiration tree, but what happens when who I’ve inspired re-inspires me...

Needless to say I’m obscenely jealous of this adventure. A part of me wants to throw myself into their suitcase and when they’re halfway to Winnipeg pop out and yell “can’t go back now!” But obviously responsibility has stuck it’s face in my life, not to mention the thousands of dollars invested in my education, sigh. I can’t help but view school as a make-shift prison, except much more clever. Why have physical barriers when you can make financial ones. “Go ahead and leave, but you’ll be leaving the $30,000 investment you just made”. And knowing that that will double by the time April 2013 rolls around, it’s just the worst.

Sometimes a story is written on other terms, like "soon to be exciting". Since February, I’ve got through my second full year of school, hitting the honours mark by the skin on my teeth, and am now working at a children’s camp yet again, except this time I’m as high up as you can go without being called “administration”. Both, a good and a bad thing. Mostly good, but sometimes tough. It kills me knowing that if I find out about staff debauchery and mischief I have to report it or do something about it. However the pay is fantastic, so I guess it's worth it for the most part. I also get to pull pranks every so often, like filling LIT cabins with hundreds of dixie cups and a paddle boat.

Not bad I guess.
