"Leader Appreciation"

We have a total of 8 Leaders for our DTS
Alejandro and Andrea are our 2 School Leaders, who kind of run the show.
Then there's Trevor, Maggie, Eric, Allie, Carl and Ashley.
Our DTS puts them through alot. When the people who run YWAM notice that stuff is going wrong (someone is stealing Internet, sneaking into open rooms, eating from the welcome baskets, stealing food from the kitchen, stealing all the pillows from various rooms, being ridiculously loud at all times, and just making a mess in general) they take the fall, and then tell us, "so the other leaders have started to notice...". So basically when were bad, they get in trouble, and they generally don't harsh on us too often. Although us being super late has brought up some serious guilt trips. Anyways, we decided that we should show our appreciation.
There's a place down by the lake, called Movenpick (we call it "roman pig") that serves some super awesome ice cream. Like, legit, best ice cream I'ver ever had. It's about a half hour train/bus ride to get there but it's always worth it.
What better way to show our leaders how much we love them by blindfolding them and leading them down to the Roman Pig for ice cream on us.
Great Idea.
Needless to say we took full advantage of the blindfolding situation. I led my leader under a bridge, into people, down unnecessary elevators and stairways and all over. Threw snow at him, made him "run away from a moving van". He was a really good sport about it.
His wife, Ashley was basically freaking out, almost in tears. But got over it once we bought them ice cream, cause who doesn't feel better after ice cream.

One of our leader's is Maggie. Who is super awesome by the way.
Before the snowboarders showed up on the scene in Lausanne, Maggie was snowboarding and had a crazy fall and actually broke her back....thus creating the nick name "Broke Back Maggie"
During one of the early weeks I wrote a joke song called "Broke Back Maggie" and tonight we had a cafe night where I was able to perform it. It was pretty rad, cause before I sang it, I gave this long dramatic intro about how I'm usually known for being a goof ball but God put lyrics on my heart, and Matt and I went up to the prayer room and hashed out a song at like 2 am and we really felt like we should sing that now instead of our original song, everyone felt bad for laughing at me when i walked up there (the theme was beauty and the geek, so that pretty much explains itself) ....and then I introduced it, "this song is called Broke back Maggie". In her words "I don't know if I should hug you or slap you in the face".
The end of our cafe night ended in a huge dance party avec disco ball. It was a super great night my school group put on for the rest of the chalet.
This week's teaching was on Missions and Worldviews. Our eyes were opened to things like human and sex trafficking, prostitution, poverty, greed, we learned some things about how the UN operates, all in all..."this should make you mad". It was overwhelming and depressing. It got us excited for our trips, but at the same time made us realize how the change we are setting out to make isn't changing much, but there was also testimony on how change can multiply.
That's all for now.
Cheers.
